Seamus Turned 1

I cant believe a year has already gone by. CRAZY!!! We have had so much happen in the last year too.  Sometimes I fear I haven't relished in his babyhood and it makes me sad to know that he is our last baby and no longer a baby. The day before his birthday we went and had his one year pictures taken. On his birthday he had his one year check up(and had to get his shots) he was the first of our babies to be over 20lbs at a year, he was 22lbs.and 30 inches long( I would look up and compare to the others but its packed we are moving to a bigger house this week). That put him in the 95% for height and 55% for weight. That night he went to his first wedding Jeremy's buddy Brandon from Kentucky his sister was getting married at Ceasers Palace. So today we had cup cakes and ice cream and sang happy birthday and he open one present a movie.

stories from the potty

last night after the kids had been put to bed jeremy and i were sitting at the computer and terrilyn comes out and hands me this:
i turned to her and asked "how is he stuck?" she whispers quietly "mom he is on the toilet with no toilet paper"
hahahahahaaaa we laughed a good long while over this.

fox or coyote?

so just this morning i am sitting at the computer reading about how captain phil(deadliest catch) died and out of the corner of my eye i see this beautifully colored tail walk by the on the wall in the backyard. just as it passes by chewy starts growling.  i hurried out to see what it was (i thought it was a house cat)the old guys on the street have told me to be careful with the kids and the dog in the backyard because of coyotes/foxes/mountain lions(seriously the coyote thing doesn't bother me much we heard wild dogs/coyotes all the time in tucson).  well when i realized it was bigger than a cat i ran back to get my camera(just as you walk in the backdoor on a shelf) because i new jeremy would never believe me.  that sucker was fast because by the time i was out to take the picture he was 4 houses down .  i started taking pictures and he stopped and turned around and headed back a bit and then turned around and went on his way.  i wish that the pictures would have turned out better but he was in the shade and i had the sun on my back so i couldn't see the screen on my camera.

now i wonder should i be more careful with the kids and dog?  they go in and out all the time when i am in the shower etc.  so should i check first then let them out?  does chewy sound fierce enough to scare away anything?

Random Stuff

I know that I wait too long to post stuff sometimes and in the past i've had to decided to post it or let it go.  I have decided that since I don't really keep a journal and since you can print your blog to a book that  I need to include more of the funny stories the kids tell even if it is a little late.

Here are Alexander and Cameron watching TV in our bed only Alex had fallen asleep and he was wearing his Spider-man Venom costume.  How he feel asleep with the mask on I will never know. Here is Seamus grinning cunningly underneath that Bat-man mask.

We have been getting a LOT of rain, more than what is usual for the area.  The other morning I was getting the kids loaded into the car to take Cameron to school and it was really foggy and misty out and he says "mom its like I am going to school in England only I don't have to where a uniform."  First off I am surprised how much detail he remembers of our trip and I about died laughing at the whole uniform part.

Here is Seamus enjoying his dinner.  I have video too that was pretty funny but we are having problems getting the video loaded.
The kids love putting Seamus in this and pushing him around the house.(We found it on clearance at walmart for $7.50 Alexander pushed it down the isle and wouldn't let go of it)

How sad is this face?  It was nap-time and we have been sick around here too and when I asked Terrilyn what happened she just tells me matter a factly "we decorated him".

Mt Charleston

Las Vegas has been getting record rain that has in turn brought large amounts of snow to Mt Charleston (just about an hour north from where we are).  So over the weekend of Jan 23 we drove up to play in the snow.  Cameron has at least played a litlle in the snow with a couple of trips to CO and Mt Lemmon in Tucson, but for Terrilyn and Alexander this was a first.  We pulled over in front of this cute little lodge up there somewhere.
This is how high the snow had been plowed to the side of the roads.
Beware of the yellow snow.
When we finally arrived there were a ton of people out for a day of enjoyment.  Alexander had to pee, so I pulled him out of the van and stood him up pulled down his pants (which was in many layers) when he starts to pee he falls and tries to catch himself by putting his hands down in the snow he freaked out because it was cold on his hands he starts pee to everywhere but wont touch it, so there I am trying to make sure he is aiming away from us while he is screaming and his bare butt hanging out.  Who knows what people thought as they passed by watching that spectacle.

Cameron jumped right out of the car and was rolling around and knee deep in the snow in no time.  Alex wasn't sinking as much as the rest of us he just walked around very cautious, Terrilyn was a different story all together with every step she took as she sunk in and it was an immediate scream fest, it really freaked her out.  So we finally put her on solid ground where she was content to throw snow at her brothers(after awhile she asked if she could sit in the snow).  It was a lot of fun but man was it deep Jeremy and I were sinking up to our knees.  It made me realize how much I do miss the snow and how bad I feel for our kids that they are being raised desert babies with no knowledge of the snow.

Hike 1-8-10

Cameron and I took a hike up the mountain that we live up against there are remnants of a "B". That Cameron wanted to get to. It actually didn't take us long and there was a spectacular view. Getting down on the other hand was tricky for Cameron because it was rocky and slippery but after a while I was able to talk him down.

Cameron the Toothless Wonder

In a matter of three days(Jan7 and 10) Cameron lost two of his front teeth. In December he lost his bottom front. He only has one of the 4 trying to grow back in. Jeremy and him worked hard on it considering they had been loose for a month it took quit a bit to get them out. Cameron just kept twisting and twisting and finally the first top one came out. Then when it came time to do the other one Jeremy had grabbed his tooth and Cameron yanked his head up and back and there was Jeremy holding the tooth.
