Jeremy in Alaska!!! Crazy!!

Yes you all have read that clearly Jeremy is in Alaska until sometime in October when the snow hits and they can't work anymore. That leaves me all by myself and hopefully staying sane with three kids and a dog. He is in a little town called Northway on the Canada/Alaska border(see the red dot on map above). What is he doing you ask I'm not sure I really understand it myself but I will try to explain it the best I can. There was a runway built there during WWII and it has been damaged by an earthquake and age so it is being repaved. His job is to make sure that those that are laying the concrete have the correct mixture blah blah blah and that the density of the soil is right. (I think). He isn't doing the physical work of laying it just watching and testing. Hopefully he doesn't come home as a popsicle and we here will all be in one piece.

It's been FOREVER since my last post....

I know that it has been awhile since I have posted but I do have excuses. I had two classes that I needed to finish before Sept to renew my teaching certificate. I know talk about waiting until the last minute I have had 5 years to take 6 credits and I have left it down to the wire. Timing has never been good, we have either just moved, gotten prego(and was super sick), just had a baby and not to metnion the $$ it takes to take 6 credits it's not like we have had the extra moola laying around. So I told my self the only thing I could do on the computer was finish those up no playing around. Needless to say house was left to fend for itself but my kids have survived I am done and I got an A and a B. YEAHH!!!! Now maybe life will be back to normal.

"Swiper, no swiping!"

Not that much has been going on lately but here is a quick note.
You know that you daughter has watched lots of Dora (probably too much) when she yells "Swiper, no swiping!" "Swiper, no swiping!" "Swiper, no swiping!"

at her little brother who has come up next to her to play with her and her toys.

"Oh, mannn!"

Alexander Laughing

The other night my sister and I had Alex laughing hysterically and by the time we got the camera out he had the hiccups..very entertaining....well at least it was to us.

As I was posting these last two I realized I haven't done much with the older kids so I will try to get something updated with them in my spare time (you know since I have soooo much of it)

Alexander Is Walking!!!

So Alexander is starting to walk well actually he can walk he just doesn't like to. I have been trying to catch him in the act but then he gets more interested in the camera. But enjoy :)

So the high pitched voice towards the end is Terrilyn sorry it gets high.

Sleepy Baby

Christensen Family-Roxey, Mindy, Baby Carmen, Don, Mia

We went up to Tempe and stayed with a friends at her parents house so we could bless their baby in their parents ward at 9 am. So between staying up late, sleeping not in his own bed, getting up early, big luncheon after sacrament meeting, and not willing to take a nap Alexander was tired...check it out...are we mean parents or what?
Be sure to turn up the volume and listen to the background comments...some felt this would come in handy when he was a bishop.

Here is proof however that we did finally let him sleep.

Easter

We had a good Easter this year. The Town of Marana sponsored a"Hip Hop Event" (or egg hunt) on Saturday morning. Its really nice because they break it down into age groups...they have free access to inflatables...they have crafts...vender's all sorts of things to do. Terrilyn loved picking up the eggs. Cameron cracked me up this year running wild to get the "golden egg". Alexander just hung out the whole time in the stroller watching intently. Next year should be good for him. Then Sunday after we got home from church(we go at 9am) we did Easter Dinner with my sister and oddly enough the Easter Bunny visited us during dinner.

Alexander's 1st Birthday

So he got to have have 2 different birthday's, one 10 days before his birthday (my mom was going back to England) and then one the day after his actual b-day. Alexander doesn't look to happy in some of the pictures because Cameron freaked out at us lighting a candle. It was really cute actually because he didn't want Alexander touching the flame and burning himself, and right as I am lighting the candle and we are getting ready to sing Happy Birthday Alexander reaches for the candle(I might have had the candle a little close) Cameron screams at him and grabs his hand and starts crying thinking that Alex burned himself. Needless to say Alexander wanted nothing to do with his cupcakes. He was a little bit better the second time around but still didn't want the cupcake even after I colored the frosting a different color and gave him a different shape to eat. Oh well maybe next year.

Zoo Trip March 7, 2008

While mom was in town we went and spent the afternoon at the Zoo. Conner had the day off and we all had fun. The weather was great not too hot yet and not too windy.

Baptism/Family fun

My cousin Katie lives in Corona California with her family and on the weekend of Feb the 16 she housed about 30 family members. We were all there to support the baptism of her husband and 2 of their 4 children.

and Jaylyn before the Baptism.

The weather was great and we were able to play outside a bit on the golf cart and the bikes and scooters. Uncle Michael was very brave and let Cameron take him for a spin in the golf cart.
Very entertaining watching a 4 year old try to steer and push the gas pedal...but he was very proud of himself.

One night we adults put the kids to bed and stayed up to play on the Wii. What a blast!! Needless to say that Jeremy's wish list now includes one...but this might be one game console that I wouldn't mind having. :) As you will notice Jeremy seems to have figured out how to play tennis sitting down. LAZY or what?

Here are some other random pictures that were taken while there.

Mom came over the Pond for a Visit

Well many of you know that my parents are currently living the next 3 years (well now 2 years and 3 months but who's counting) in England. This has been a big deal since we moved down here to Tucson when Cameron was 2 weeks old my parents have always been around my kids...so for mom not to see them for a couple of weeks let alone the 6 months has been rough. But she was here and for 5 great and helpful weeks and now that she is gone they miss her. Mom arrived at a good time my cousin's husband and two oldest kids were baptized the first weekend she was back in the states. Fun times had by all 30 family members that were able to be there. My nephew Conner was celebrating his 8th birthday on Feb 24. We celebrated Alexander's 1rst birthday 10 days early before mom left just to name a few of the highlights.
