4th of July 2009

Our 4th of July had an interesting start...I was in the kitchen that morning eating breakfast when I looked up at the wall above the bay window and it looked as if the paint was just melting right off the wall,I then looked down and noticed a small puddle of water. Oh great! So I made Jeremy pull out the ladder drag it to the front of the house and I crawled to the top and discovered a tile that had cracked in half and then slid down abut 3 inches leaving a gap that allowed the previous nights 2+ hour monsoon rains to pour in on so I called the insurance company and they sent a restoration company out and by 4 pm this is what my kitchen looked like
see those 5 round holes where the ceiling meets the wall...that would be the great outdoors you are seeing.

The rest of our day was great we went across the street and bbq'd with our friends the Oldham's. The kids played in the pool in the backyard. Their house backs to the river/wash so we had a clear view of the fireworks show that was just over 3 miles away. Thank you Oldham's it was fun and the kids had a blast.

Seamus slept through the fireworks as did Alexander who was alseep on their couch.

Friday evening a good friend of ours Captian Donald Christensen and his youngest daughter Carmen were passing through Tucson from Texas on their way up to Tempe. He stopped by to stretch their legs a bit and say hi. As he was leaving he surprised Jeremy with some contra band fireworks to enjoy. Thank you so much we enjoyed living on the wild side for a spell.

The other day my sister stopped by on her way to getting her hair cut and Cameron wanted to go with her. She told him that he would need to get his hair cut (I doubted he would do it because he never lets me cut it short when I do it myself.) He came home looking like this:He is such a handsome little boy only now the haircut makes him look older.
